About DollarsFromSense.org

Young adults preparing to enter the workforce face many financial decisions that have a significant impact on the rest of their lives. DollarsFromSense.com is an interactive site that instructs young adults in the basics of personal finance and investing, so they can make smart financial decisions during the early stages of their working lives and beyond. Through rich media presentations and real-life stories, users learn the importance of saving for retirement, the dangers of credit card debt, important financial considerations in accomplishing their short- and long-term goals, and the basics of saving and investing.

History of the Site

This site was funded through a grant from the FINRA Investor Education Foundation, received by Baruch College and Kognito Interactive. In developing DollarsFromSense.com, Kognito Interactive worked with subject-matter experts in personal finance and investing to create content and media tailored to the needs and interests of young adults. To determine the content and instructional approach of the site and test the site's effectiveness, Kognito and Baruch held multiple focus groups and user testing sessions with university students. DollarsFromSense.com is hosted by Miami University.
