Fun Ways To Spend Your Time For Next To Nothing
January is over and we are well on our way into the new year, however, January can often feel like you are a little more strapped for cash than normal. Paying the bills from the festive period, the long wait for payday, it can be a huge drag, and often, even though you bank account may have been replenished with your wages, it may have disappeared as quickly as it arrived. It can often leave a strain on what to do during your spare time, so I wanted to share with you some of the fund things you can do that won’t cost you much at all.
Trying out a distracting hobby
First of all, a good idea would be to try out a new hobby. Something that requires your focus and can be a huge distraction means that although it hasn’t cost much to do said activity, your time has been well spent and in some cases you can even feel relaxed. Colouring is a great one, but also things like origami can be a great way to be creative and you don’t need much to get started at all. You can learn more about it online. Other distracting hobbies might be writing, creating an online blog where you can share your passion or even using your time to fill out surveys or enter competitions. Which can be quite lucrative.
Going out for a long walk in the fresh air
There is nothing better than putting on your coat, grabbing your dog (if you have one), putting on your wellington boots and just heading out for a long walk in the fresh air. It is a great way to clear your head, but it can also be very relaxing. However, on the other side of things you can use walking as an opportunity to be more active in your daily life. Choosing to have a brisk walk and even a run can be an excellent way to spend your time while feeling better about yourself.
Jump in your car and head to a new town or village
If exploring is in your nature but you just don’t have the funds to stretch for a plane ride somewhere then think about exploring closer to home. Getting in your car, jumping on a bus or buying a train ticket doesn’t mean you have to have too much outlay in cost, but it could take you somewhere new. Perhaps a town you haven’t been to before, a little village in the countryside. If you look hard enough there will be plenty of areas locally that you won’t have been to before.
Editing photographs and videos you have captured
Finally, so many people love to capture memories on their smartphone or camera, whether that be pictures or videos. So why not spend your time collating them, editing them and organising them into files. Most computers and laptops have free editing software that could help enhance the quality of the shot you have taken.
I hope that this has inspired you to consider some of the fun things you could do in your spare time.
